HEARTBEATS

 

"Angels without wings" takes places in Ecuador, in the province of Esmeraldas, on the Pacific border with Colombia.

 

This project embodies a naturalistic aesthetic which thrives on the regional Afro gestures and expressiveness of the people of San Lorenzo, Esmeraldas.



The script breathes out the stories of a local community and through their natural surroundings hosts sounds, colors and heartbeats of a culture that came from Africa. The film confronts the fight for the survival of every piece of land snatched by modern invasions.



Faces, gestures and ancestral wisdom comes to life in a movie that portrays  a mosaic of national identities within the new generation of Ecuadorian films.
